    I found your web site because I was trying to figure out what nationality “Zook” is. When you look it up it says something about being from Silesia but I read it was German so, now I am lost because Silesia consists of a few countries. My Mothers name was Zook before she got married to my father. I was adopted and recently found them a few moths ago. I am trying to figure out what nationality I am. I was hoping you can help with the Zook part. My Dad’s last name is O’Keefe, that doesn’t take much effort to figure out he is Irish. =) But, now because I read about Silesia, I cant tell if we are German, or Polish, or Czech, or from mars. =)

    Michele – Wow, what a journey you are on! I wish you the best in your search. To be honest I have never thought much about it since I grew up knowing my Zook family. I have always believed that we are of a German/Dutch ancestry. In my family we have an Amish/Mennonite history in our family out of Indiana. However I have heard of Zook’s descending from Switzerland as well. There are several spelling variations as well. I did find a website of a guy that has done more work than we have in researching this. He may be of more help at zookfamily.net.

    Hello crazy kids. Wow. What an incredibly LONG time it has been!!!!!! You both look great, and your kids… wow. All growed up. I’ve got lots of news, and it would be fun to catch up. Feel like coming to CO for a bit?
